"Noong pumutok ang bulkan, sumabog ang biyaya"- Rev. Fr. Eriberto R. Cabrera

Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish

The Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish (OMPHP) in Agoncillo, Batangas is a relatively young institution since it would only be celebrating its 29th founding anniversary this 2022.

However, OMPHP had already seen its fair share of challengesthe aftermath of the Taal Volcano eruption in 2020 being the most notable.

"Paano kami manghihingi, kung yung mismong mga parokyano ay biktima din (how could we ask for donations when the parishioners themselves are affected by the calamity)," Rev. Fr. Eriberto R. Cabrera, OMPHP Priest, shares.

But the donations kept on pouring in nonethelessteeming to the point that they could resume Masses only a month after the calamity.

The church even functions as a social welfare establishment where they accept goods and distribute them to those who are in need.

Because the eruption took a toll on the church's infrastructure, OMPHP is currently celebrating its Masses at a makeshift facility within its compound.

Hopes are high that everything would then come back to a better, calamity-proof building once the reconstruction is completed.

For those who would like to extend monetary help for the OMPHP reconstruction, donations are accepted via their bank accounts published on their official facebook page, OMPHP, Agoncillo.
